I called (one of) my local avian vet(s) and encouraged them to also call the authorities. I have asked them to help educate the public, as well. They are in contact with the stafe Vet and are compiling information.
I hate the thought of confining my birds. However, I absolutely will if that’s best for them and for this whole epidemic.(Is it still called an epidemic with animals?)
I am going to encourage my local avian vets to call, too. Sorry, I’m having trouble keeping up. Who should we call in addition to the Governor’s office?
And if wild birds can be carriers, is euthanizing poultry really going to stop this?
