It was splayed even in the incubator with shelf liner down. Thinking they were stuck in their eggs too long.

One has some splayed leg going on. Currently has a strip of Vet wrap assisting leg placement.

3 pipped internally, and didn't make it through the shell. One DIS. 2 are currently pipped and are making their way out. I did open the holes for them a bit more to be on the safe side. Really bummed about those 3. Should have done pin holes last night.

:wee I have Pips!! 6 viable eggs left. 2 days left till official hatch. Saw draw downs and shadows yesterday. And a pip! Just now!

Apologies for not checking back in with a candleing update. There are 6 remaining with signs of life, and 12 days left on the countdown. :fl Really Really need some of these Muscovies to hatch. I Def need more practice at candleing pictures.

10 to 14 went in the incubator on the 14th. Some where under a broody for a few days.

Any idea on the chances of these muscovies hatching? Either my bator decided it wasn't going to turn for the last week or the broody they were originally under never turned them.

Humidity is holding between 45% and 55% with the "shoestring" method. Ambiant humidity <10%. 100% cotton yarn in a tight single chain crochet, 3ish ft long. Soak in water, then feed through the port. Circle the base with the yarn. Leave enough yarn in the water jug to coil at the bottom...

I did manage to track down a pdf with the way to do it. Hold down menu, +, - at the same time for 5 sec till it flashes C 0.0 then its + or - for temp, hit Menu again for Humidity + or -, and menu to exit.

Anyone find the way to Calibrate the incubator itself? My new one is 5% high on the humidity readout.

Did anyone find a better way of auto adding water? I did the airline drip method last year. It worked OK, as long as the cats left it alone, but needed adjusting every couple of days. Have not tried the air stone method yet nor the shoelace/wicking method. Before I go digging through the site...

I bought the dividers off ebay. I like them well enough. Could probably build on with plastic mesh and zipties, but might need to make it a bit sturdier. My chicks kept trying to hop the fence, and came pretty close.

With the wood stove running in the winter my kitchen dosent register on ours. It bottoms out at 10% 😁

The halt on sales is only for auctions and swap meets. Chicks from hatcheries, and npip are fine. In NY its also allowable to still sell directly person to person. Just no big meet ups. May be the same where you are, the legal terminology is confusing.
