Its spring and we have no Muscovy ducks! We also have two geese going broody! I would love to have some White French Muscovy ducks. PM me if anyone can help!
Not sure what color this duckling is yet, but its not white. Perhaps its a recessive gene that has appeared. It almost looks like it has silver on its tips. We may just have to wait a month till it feathers out. If it turns out to be a mule, we will just have dinner. If it is a pure Muscovy, I...
oops, I miscounted on the calender. Thought these Muscovy were due to hatch next week. Walked into the kitchen to get a drink last night and heard a baby squeak. Since we only have Muscovy eggs of the same setting, I knew I had made a mistake. Brenae took this photo while I was trying to place...

We have won Grand Champion Waterfowl at our APA State Meet 2010. Best of Breed several times.
Keep an eye on eBay. have seen several Blacks and Blues lately and they were exhibition quality. Also the other online auction sites. Hope you locate some. I may try to add Blacks as well this fall. We are adding Whites...if the eggs hatch. I am trusting a Chocolate Muscovy hen with that task.
The Standard of Perfection (SOP) only recognizes the following colors in the Muscovy:
Muscovy Black 1904 Heavy Duck
Muscovy Blue 1950 Heavy Duck
Muscovy Chocolate 1982 Heavy Duck
Muscovy White 1874 Heavy Duck

Oh boy have I seen that a many a time, I don't reccommend kids getting involved but I have been known to break up a few. They can get pretty rowdy around here, And boy are they pretty Chocolates.
Thank you! Here is "Old Dan" the father at our 2010 APA State Meet. He won Grand Champion...
My children know better than to get in the middle of a cockfight or in this case, a drake fight. Here are our two Chocolate Muscovy Drakes, father and son, having a slight dispute on who is Alpha. Father is still Alpha.
We no longer have the hen that produced the silver. seems both would have to carry silver to get a silver. We have considered adding Black. A friend has Black and gets a few Chocolate. Maybe we will get a few Blacks this next year.

Well.. Color is kinda improtant... Which thread? You should correct them.
I think someone else already did. Yes, color is important. But more important is that an "ugly" duck won the show. We took a presold Chocolate Pied young duck for a 16 year old from Michigan. Brought home a...
