I posted some picks on the thread "do you love geese" that someone else posted on this thread....(just to help)
The drakes sometimes still want to mate even though the hen has decided to sit. THey go on in and bust up the nest(eggs) I have had this happen a fe times. If I know who the...
I would head over and introduce myself...cant hurt to have other keepers in the area that are friends!
MIne all run together and I dont usually have any problems with the drakes. The hens definitely know which babies are theirs though! They dont tolerate any "newcomers." Sometimes you will...
Oh I just hated the mud last weekend...but we are 10 now...I am not happy about that either...all hoses were frozen yesterday even though I dropped all 250' into the well pit! The mistake I make was to not shut off the water and unhook it...I guess there was too much water remaining...
JLam---my drakes do not seem to be mating my girls at all right now (I am in WI) Maybe the eggs really were infertile. Spring is a better time!
Good luck! TErriO

Tis is my ultra fave...
Here are a few of mine:
These were taken only last week...I am amazed how much more snow is on the ground now! More like Christmas than Thanksgiving for sure! Have a great day! TerriO
Buck--you would take out the oviduct to prevent her laying eggs? Did she prolapse? Internal layer? I didnt even know that they would do a surgery for that?
