So true I really don’t like to call anything pure as there all set from crosses. Names are just that what I look at is the man behind the chickens. Names just tell you what and how they should look and act. I have a line of the old line Melville Atkinsons that are about as inbred as you’ll find...

That’s cool I’m sure you enjoy them as you obviously take great care of them. To many want these birds but fail to take proper care of them. One thing I hate to see is waterers so green with algae and filthy water. I rinse and give fresh clean water every morning at daylight And ever so often I...

In Gamefowl there are many different families of pure lineage.Examples are Wingate Brown Reds, Kelsos, Clarets, Roundheads , Butchers, Sid Taylor’s and these are just a few. They were all originated by cock fighters of yesteryear. Most are from setting crosses as a strain by selective breeding...

No I don’t like to flock breed, I single mate all my broods. I’m just saying that if the hens are raised with each other from birth then you can keep several to one cock if you choose to. I have to keep mine all separated even the hens as they will fight and wreck each other.

Main thing is keep your roosters separate from each other as when they start up they will kill each other. You can free range them but once they start that’s it. Hens can be kept together if raised from chicks together. Keep them in good sized pens and you can keep several hens to one cock...
