Mine does it too. First picture are all the same hen. Second picture the 3 eggs to the left are hers and 2 Americauna eggs to compare the middle purple egg too. Sometimes smooth in color but mostly I get speckled eggs. I think they look like bartlet pears. LOL

Does anyone else's OE seem to molt harder then their other birds? I only have one OE hen and this is her first molt. She's half naked! I know each molt is different for each bird but I also have heard certain breeds molt harder then others. Wondered if OE's are one?

I know my girl is an Ameracauna x French Copper Marans. She's a sturdy girl who is always giving me the stink eye. She definitely has the most dinosaur look out of all my birds. She really is very sweet. Her best friend is my Svart Hona x B. Cochin mix. (not even 3 lbs)

I need a crested chicken! I agree not quite olive.... that could change though. I have a mixed girl, of who knows what mix, that lays pink and then fades to white. Then all of a sudden I get pink again.

There was recently a FB post about our local Humane Society asking for people to consider adopting farm animals they have. Someone tagged me in it and before I even saw it my poor BF responded, "Don't encourage her." Ha Ha Ha! He's afraid we'll be over run.:lau

Got my first OE this weekend. Here she is with her friend a Svart Hona Cochin cross. Does anyone else have an OE that purs? She sweetly sits in my lap and dozes off. Then as I pet her she trills and purs.
