I don't believe OE lay brown eggs... she's just one of the 50% or so OE chicks that lay brown eggs. Her mom was backcrossed to a BCM so that makes the brown egg chances higher.
Rught now I'm using my BCM hens to get more BCM. One of the two lays a 6 or a 7, so hopefully the roo keeps it dark. If not then.. :idunno
I still don't understand why I can't use the mixes to try to create OE.
She was hatched out of an oliver egger's egg. From what I understand, OE × BCM = 50% olive eggs and 50% brown... also... why wouldn't the mixes' chicks lay olive eggs?
Here are the two roos I have that are covering the hens to make OE:
BCM over-
Cream Legbar
The mixes
CL over-
brown egg laying OE
My orpington hen is acting like she want to go broody so I'm collecting eggs from 6 hens. Cream Legbar, 2 BCM, Olive Egger (lays brown eggs), 2 Brahma × Cream Legbars! Can't wait for all the Olive Eggers and BCMs!
She has a single comb.
No he did not but the only blue egg layers he had there were EE.
If she had EE in her wounding she have a beard and muffs?...
And the Marans in her...feathered legs are dominant.....?
