My EE is a flier too. She is the only one who sails over the fence several times a day to free-range, and she's a cross-beak to boot!

Most often TSC or other feed stores sell hatchery birds. The exception is when private breeders sell their chicks through feed stores, but that would vary by location. You most likely bought EE's (sold as "americanas".) Pink is pink. That sure is a pink egg I'm looking at...and if...
I have got a few OE's that are Wheaten Am and Wellie Mix. I am REALLY hoping for some speckled green eggs this year, to go with the other OE's. That's the goal anyway. I've noticed a few "gray" OE eggs, and thought they were so odd (my camera can not capture an accurate depiction)...anybody...

I LOVE the green egg with speckles!!! Please tell me you blow them out and use them for Christmas decorations!? That way you can keep them always!

Really interesting color on your OE's! The Marans eggs appear the color of beets on my laptop. I want them!
Thank you. I used the same BCMs to get my flock of Olive Eggers. My BCMs lay a very dark reddish brown egg - not so much the chocolate brown I see others post. My Olive...

Well...I don't know what to make of it yet, but two of my OE's I've been waiting so long to lay died this week. One was my favorite "imposter" lav OE I posted pics of a few pages back. I don't know if they were egg bound, or if it was something else. They were "off" but I thought it might be...

Mayberry, I'm curious what color Ameraucana you used. I used Lav, and the the resulting chicks are black with a speckling of brown. Cute lil' buggars!

Weird! I have birds that look EXACTLY like yours in pics 4 and 5. The dad is a Blue Copper Marans and the moms are Buff Orpingtons (a breeding that took place when our chickens were free ranging!).

Yeah, funny for YOU, not so funny for ME!
I have 2 Rose Comb White Leghorn pullets (I was told they were 3 months) in with my OE pullets and OE cockerels. The OE girls are about 5 months. I expect eggs soon...any day really. One of the OE girls was sitting on 2 VERY white eggs...
