    Lethargic, malnourished, hunched in corner.

Joan is pretty much acting herself again, pecking, running around, fighting for scraps. She is still wearing the bra. Her crop is pretty full of hard grainy stuff (golf ball sized) in the morning. She's not laying yet. We have an upcoming vacation where I'll be gone for 10 days, July 18-29...

    Lethargic, malnourished, hunched in corner.

I was at work yesterday so I didn't have a chance to pull out our dog crate. It's a big airplane crate, but we got rid of the big wire crate, which would be easier to clean. Maybe I'll ask around and see if someone has one I can borrow. Woke up, before food and water, Joan had a golf ball...

I didn't catch her in time this morning before they got to food, but she is definitely acting more normal. I will close everything up tonight and check in the morning tomorrow. If it's still full after overnight when I check tomorrow should I try the flush again?

I did the flush. Unfortunately we were busy this morning and I didn't seclude her so I don't know if she's had a giant poop. I just went out and checked her crop though and it's squishy and hardly any bits in it! When we did the flush around 3 hours ago it was rock hard and between golf ball and...

I'm curious how the flush went for the other hen! I hope it worked! I can't wait to hopefully get things moving tomorrow.

Yes, she has been pooping quite regularly throughout, which is reassuring. I'll continue the tube feed of her yeast med, then plan for a tube feed of the molasses flush for early on 4th of July. Then hopefully, fireworks, haha.

I'm ready for that! I work in a children's hospital and we have done "milk &molasses" enemas, with similar results! Are the results immediate? Maybe I should not attempt this at roosting time and more of a early morning thing? And maybe not until I have the day off to monitor her...I will...

All night, no food or water and it's still golf ball sized. The bra keeps it compressed up against her, but I can squish it around. She's still looking pretty good, ran out of the coop when I opened it. I can give her the med this morning but anything more would probably have to wait until 8pm...

Alright, today she seemed the most chipper she has in days. However, even with wearing the bra her crop was full all day. I gave her the med AM and PM, and I closed everyone in the coop with no food/water until I get up for work at 5:30am. I'll report back in the morning! I will not have as much...

OK I isolated her with no food or water in the coop for 2 hours. Her crop is still full, pliable, but about the same size. Not sure how to proceed... Should i still give her the medicine? It's about time she gets it in the morning.

Crop bra was on all night. Forgot to close coop door, and they were all out when I got up but it couldn't have been for long. Her crop was pretty full and hard. But still pliable. About golf ball sized. It was held up very well with the bra ( it was difficult to palpate the crop but once I got a...

This morning is the 5th dose, so day 3, started on Friday afternoon. Up until Friday (and the tube feeds)she was knocking on deaths door!

Yesterday she was a lot perkier. She actually ran out of the run, ran to the dropped bird seed and the water dish. She ate quite a bit too.. Egg, bread, my toddler's leftover dinner. She did rest in the back corner but was more active than the day before. Her comb looks a bit better too.

This morning I caught her before she went downstairs. Crop is still pretty full and it was mostly solid food but I was able to massage it and move it around. Tonight I'll make her wear a crop bra. She wiggled out of it during the day on Friday but maybe it'll stay when she's roosting.

OK sounds like a plan. Should I do the yeast med two or three times a day?

So, she was actually down in the run when I woke up, first time in a couple days. (They have food and water there, so she may have eaten some pellet food, maybe I should have put her in the dog crate, whoops:hmm). Opened the door and she trotted out, went to the typical forage spots and to the...

She seemed to be a bit more perky this afternoon/evening. Ran to the fence once, and in the evening she got herself up on the roost (nights before she's slept in the nesting box). I will check her in the morning. Does the clotrimazole still work if I mix it in water to get it in her (since I'm...

Okay. Joan is still alive this morning, and I have 4 days off from work to try to fix her. I ordered liquid Corid 9.6% to treat her for cocci, in case that's the cause, and it will arrive tonight. I read through both articles you posted @Wyorp Rock, a few times, and I'm trying to make a game...

Husband says he had to bring her out of the coop today. She drank a little, semi-forced. I want to try to vomit her again... or I could take a needle and try to aspirate some fluid from the crop, or inject oil/dulcolax if that would be better. I have dulcolax at home, that would be my next try...

I fed her coconut oil and massaged her crop well last night. She slept in the nesting box... She drank electrolyte water and yogurt yesterday... This morning her crop is doughy and still has stuff in it she looks worse today... And I'm off to work for 12 hours! My husband will give her the water...
