I would invest in some dog proof traps. I can show an easy setup I have been using in barn yard setting to keep sets in place when a critter caught. I am really liking the dog proof traps. I have about 3 three going most of the time. Easy to setup if you have two good hands...
If feed quality good then, then cannibalism not likely. Roosting in ceiling joist should be protection from gut eater I know, the opossum.
