Thanks! I wasn't at home when they hatched (about 2 hours ago) but when I saw them (I had a camera set up) I started screaming and running around... people must have thought I was crazy!

Really? :yesss: Because two of them look like they might have more square-ish poofs on their head, and one is slightly heavier than the others (only by 2 grams though)

Thank you! Also, I’ve heard you can tell females from males based on size and if their poof on their head is round or square in chicks. Is this accurate?

Is this the chicken in question? I can see the interesting patterning, but I can’t really see the comb. But, to be fear, I’ve only kept 2 silkies, which was a pure black and a mostly white with a bit of splash. So I’m really not an expert. I’m going to log off for the night, so goodnight!

Maybe a mix? If her comb looks different, and odd feathering, I would expect that it’s not purebred. Could be wrk by though. A picture would be helpful when you have the time.

I haven’t read this thread, but I love silkies! They’re so sweet and are almost like super fluffy, calm dogs!
