I'd go with #1 or #3. BUT since one of those going is your daughter's pet, be aware that started pullets are likely to be much less tame than chicks that you raise and handle a lot from the start. At least that is my experience, as I choose to get started pullets to avoid the surprise cockerels...- townchicks
