    With most breeds males are readily apparent at 4-8 weeks by bigger and redder combs and wattles. IMO that's the easiest time to tell......until ~4 months when saddle and hackle feathers emerge.

    If you have pics of when they were about 6 weeks old, it's much easier to tell at that age then at 16 weeks. But then again at 16wo the hackles and saddles should be pretty clear, but they are not. I'd guess slow to mature cockerels or 'hermaphrodites' (that's not the right word but CRS right...
