    the whole coop is roofed and there are windows that can be opened and closed on all sides of the interior room

    Ok so exact dimensions: interior room (w roost and next box) 6x8 ft Exterior room (feed and water room) 8x8 ft 4 nest boxes, each 12x16 inches

    Yes they have access to the outside all day from the moment their door opens at 7 am to when it shuts at 6pm. Agreed on the amount of chicken poo to clean up. Right now with 6 it seems ok but I’m sure at some point it’ll start to feel like too much.

    Good point on local laws - I will investigate. I wouldn’t want more than the 10ish number anyways I think. kids arent allowed in that yard as it’s solely a chicken yard. It’s separate from the main yard where the kids play and use.

    My husband and I inherited this coop when we bought our house- it’s a converted playhouse. We love it and currently have 6 hens in it. I’m wondering how many it can hold if we wanted to increase our flock? I know it’s large I just don’t have a good idea of how many hens would comfortably fit...
