The woven wire fencing we buy is Redbrand, and it's good stuff. I haven't ever visited their website, glad it's helpful. Mary

It's "Fences For Pasture and Garden" by Gail Damarow, available several sites. The 4x4" goat fencing will contain most large breed adult chickens, not juveniles, and not good for horse fencing either. Mary

Amending the above; some adult chickens just don't fly much at all, and others are more mobile, and motivated. Mary

My birds ignored the 3' chicken wire fence I used to save the garden one year. Useless! Mary

Ours, not so much. Without electric tape or rope on the top, nothing would be left, and even so, the horses and cattle know how to 'age' it very effectively. It only looks new for a while... Mary

Don't buy stuff at the garden center! Go to a farm supplies store, and Premier1supplies.com for electric fencing supplies. We use the 8' treated posts, some 6" diameter, and cross braces with 4" posts. It all depends on what you are building! Our tposts are closer to 10' apart too. Mary

Nope, but it was easy to locate by asking for books on livestock fencing. Inexpensive, too. Mary

'Fences For Pasture and Garden' by Gail Damerouw (SP?). Excellent book, used to be available on several sites, and I just found it at Amazon. Mary

You can get taller fencing, and the higher the better! Mary

There's a very good book, soft cover, on fencing for livestock. It's available online, and it's our best reference. Whenever we 'cheated' on the instructions given, it didn't go well. Woven wire fencing, 2x4" openings, 4' tall, with electric tape on top, and set close to the ground. Wood post...
