Great job! I personally don't assist unless the chick can externally pip on its own. If it can't there is usually a reason. Most chicks I've helped that didn't externally pip on their own usually had a deformity that was preventing them from pipping and they eventually died.

I hatch guinea eggs all the time. The tricky bit is that they vary when they hatch 26-28 days. Another tricky bit for me is that it seems I have 6 females and 1 male, They usually do best in pairs or trios. So I'm getting a lot of unfertilized eggs.

I've heard letting them hatch in an egg carton, point down is good for detached cells.
