So.... the power just went out. :barnie I draped a towel over and around the brooder to conserve heat, but I’m not sure how long it will work. Don’t have water unfortunately (electric well) so no hot water bottles.
Anyways, congrats to all the new hatches and stay safe! Keeping my fingers...
Happy Easter! We made it! :yesss:
All but one have hatched so far. The last egg is the one who pipped on the wrong side and I've heard it will take longer to hatch, so I'm definitely waiting before deciding to assist (if necessary).
I love seeing all the baby pics, so keep 'em coming! Here are...
We have three external pips!:celebrate
I'm trying to keep myself busy, but my overactive imagination keeps telling me a duckling is about to pop out right this second
Did a final candle just now and was able to see a little movement in every egg (although, it was pretty dark). Air cells seem to be progressing well each week, so I can't wait for lockdown on Wednesday! :celebrate I hope everyone else's hatch is going well so far.
@CluckNDoodle yeah, I'm not sure where the somersault thing came up but that's good your goose eggs have turned out well. I've heard goose and duck eggs are pretty similar so maybe I'll try the auto turner. Good luck with your hatch and thanks for the help!
Does anyone happen to be hatching duck eggs in a Nurture Right 360? I was just wondering if people had better hatch rates hand turning vs using the auto turner. It's day 10 and I have been manually turning 3x everyday since I've heard it's "better" for ducks:idunno but recently I've heard...
Alright, count me in!
It's day 7 for my Ancona duck eggs and I just candled them. Thanks to my drake who's great at his "job", all are fertile and growing :woot
