I have too many photos! 😂 Yes, some feathered legged chickens are really hard to look after but marans legs aren't that thickly feathered, it is only a thin layer along the outside of the leg and on the outer toe.
Most marans with leg feathering it is very thin not like a pekin or silkie so it doesn't really matter if you do or don't unless they have lots of feathering but that is rare.😊

Good idea of the eggs colours! The wheaten maran egg is the really dark brown, so you can clearly see the difference. Plus I love how they have little black spots all over them, looks like someone as splattered black paint on them!
Wheaten Marans are my favourite, they dont lay the darkest maran eggs but they do look beautiful. Even then their eggs aren't light, they are still dark.
