I must disagree with the claim that a rooster has to mate with a hen every couple of days for him to fertilize her eggs. I read on several places that it can be up to 3 weeks (maybe she stores the sperm somehow?), and in fact, once when we had 2 roosters with separate flocks of hens, and then...- Kiawaki
