My SO just bought me a Jeep Liberty. Still need to get it plated and all that jazz but I'm pretty excited about it. I was having to put chicken feed bags in the backseat of my Saturn Ion because they dont fit in the trunk. Usually we take the truck but if I'm out running errands I will pick...
I can lift it, I just have a hard time with it. I can't carry it for very long. Today I walked the full bag outside to him and threw it down when it was too much. Pouring it I usually make a mess because it's so cumbersome. It's nice to be able to pass the work to someone more capable if I can
Exactly. There is no "womens work" or "mens work"...theres only hard work. I may not be able to construct a coop on my own but I can paint and decorate it. I will say though that I'm not sure how it happened but I ended up on all "poop patrol" duties: picking up dog and cat poop and cleaning...
What we have been doing is having him fill up a cat litter container that holds about 10 lbs so I can get the chores done when he is at work. He fills up the big communal feeder and I fill the smaller feeders. It's a good system that works for us
My current catcher is our border collie. She herds them into a corner so I can geab them. Once I've got em by the legs I just have to remind her to back off. Not ideal but we work well together. She loves doing her "chores" and playing with the roos. Best of all she never tries to hurt...
This is why I wont get ducks until we install the pond. The right fish and plants in it will clean the water for you...or so I've read. Haven't looked much into it because it's too far down the road.
Some things I would like:
A vacuum that picks up just feces and leaves the shavings. Kinda like a chicken littermaid
A device that lets you know if an egg is fertilized as soon as it is laid
A rooster catcher
I'm sure I have more wishes. Can I wish for more wishes? As far as the comment...
