The only time a chicken is truly “distressed” about her eggs being taken is when she’s broody. Even then, if she’s off the nest when the egg is taken, she won’t know it because chickens can’t count. At least mine never learned. Broodies don’t like anyone messing with their nest when they’re on...- bobbi-j
