    Until you can get neosporin or anything else to put on it, I'd say flush every few hours. Better to keep doing what you're doing than take too many chances when the wound is so fresh. Awesome job on cleaning it and caring for him!

    Poor guy :( Definitely looks better than I expected though- and actually pretty similar to a wound one of my hens had a few years ago. She made it just fine with daily flushing and wound spray. As long as his brother isn't picking at him or making a mess, it should be okay to keep them...

    It's awesome that he's letting you! Does it look like his crop (ball shaped organ at the bottom of the neck, top of the chest) is damaged at all? If not and he's still eating I think he may have good chances, it doesn't look as deep as the original pictures to me

    if you can get some blucote, that's done wonders for my chickens with injuries before. It'll stain their feathers until they molt, but it's the best wound spray I've tried- it should be at tractor supply if you have access to one. It'll at the very least disinfect it. I saw someone else...
