As to the longevity on water glassed eggs, I have eaten mine and they were over two years old. No issues with eating them as scrambled or used in baking
Yeah, those eggs should go into new water/lime solution. When you crack them, if they don't smell and look ok, I'd say use them
That's kinda the dilemma I'm in. My girls are three and almost four years old. Do I get chicks now and brood them in the coop(hubby says no more chicks in the house)...
Ok, so an update on my water glassed eggs. They are about a year old, I wrote it down somewhere when I did them but can't remember where! Anyways, they are still doing good! They make wonderful scrambled eggs and do great in baking. I hard boiled five today just as an experiment and all five...
Feeling much better, thank you. Nope, hubby never got sick, neither did my son. And with the price of eggs being what it is and my girls still taking a break, I'm very glad I water glassed eggs last year
Coming back to say that it's been over 12 hours since I've eaten my water glassed eggs this morning. My stomach is very upset. I was fine all day, then got sick after supper. It could have been supper that got me sick and not the eggs. I will definitely be trying my eggs again, my hubby ate them...
I keep mine in my basement, with all the food I've canned. It stays about 50° down there in the winter and a little warmer in the summer. I put mine in a two gallon glass jar I bought at Walmart
Eating my first water glassed eggs! Made them scrambled, they are very good! Like everyone else has said, runnier than normal but they scrambled fine and I baked cookies with some last night, turned out great! 10/10
I personally would start fresh. Lime isin't that expensive and that way you know it would be good. How were the eggs? I haven't eaten any of mine yet, my ladies are still laying enough eggs that I haven't been out of any yet
I have very sensitive skin and can't touch the lime water, even with gloves on. Since my container is glass, I can see where I'm putting the eggs so that helps. And I'm glad to hear that leaks have not ruined your eggs, hoping for the same here
Thanks. I removed the broken egg right away and there doesn't seem to be a mess on the other eggs. And when I put the eggs in the container, I use a slotted spoon. There is also a lid on the container, I used a very large glass jar I purchased at Walmart. I will have another look at my eggs and...
Thanks for the update again. I have water glassed over 40 eggs now, just last week. I had one egg that broke and leaked the yolk into the water, hope that didn't ruin the whole batch. I add a couple eggs a day, the clean ones
Hi everyone! I just found this thread after watching the video the OP linked, found it on youtube when hubby and I were researching food prep. @drstratton and @BigBlueHen53 and anyone else that has tried this, how has it worked? I saw the updates but they were a few months old and I was...
