I think it’s a good thing to have a few Roos to choose from if you want one or two good ones for breeding; besides, things happen. I never feel that chicken math really applies when they’re little :)
Cool about the Dorkings!
I ordered brahmas but we’ll see what happens....
I’d also really like a Dewlap Toulouse for my Toulouse ladies, I posted on Kijiji but the closest one is in southern Ontario...or I can buy from Manitoba for $175!!! Dh is pretty easygoing about my birds but I could never...
Welcome to byc fellow ontarion!
I’m cooking my first batch of chicken seeds in my brand new incubator right now too, I’m so impatient! People around here have been going bonkers buying up chicks, meat rabbits, piglets etc due to all this end of the world business.
I was able to secure 5 chicks...
Welcome!
I’ve had no trouble with barred rocks, Rhode Island reds and Sussex; I’m starting to switch over this spring to brahmas and I’m hoping they’ll be even better in the cold
Loving the weather right now! Chickens are enjoying it too :)
Getting tired of hearing about Groundhog Day though, hello!!??!! We’re in Canada! No matter what he sees (or not) we’re getting 6 more weeks of winter. Guess I’m a party pooper lol
