Due to a lethal gene most of the eggs either dont hatch or they dont live long as they are weaker same with breeding two inos...ive tried both before neither clutches ever hatched so tossed out those mutations and wont breed those again not a fan of either.
Someone told me years ago its called split to pied not split to recessive pied. Not sure as I dont breed rec pieds as not a fan of them as you cant breed two rec together
Down feathers grow before flight feathers on most but for me inos seem to grow less down feathers but those chicks look plucked I read years ago it was a salt deficiency. But I personally think its protien as if its like chickens they pluck due to lack of protien
I higly doubt a rat did that to a budgie I have rats and they leave nothing behind if the head was scalped thats another budgie that did that ive had that happen with two females before

Ive raised inos and been breeding for years. My ino hen actually just died recently she had 3 spangled sons split to ino I never bred as Im not a fan of red eyes they cant see and are very skittish imo.
