Here are some pics of my girls at about 4 weeks. Basil is a snuggler and will hop up onto my leg for me to hold her while she naps. ❤️ They are such a wonderful group of chicks! I love how they are starting to get their true feather colorings! The gold in Daffodil the Wyandotte in the pic is...
More pics of the girls! The babies are doing well so far, & the big girls are getting feathers! After seeing them jump out onto my arm a few times, I put up a roost for them & they LOVE it!
Second batch of babies from today! Chicken math is real! (No names yet...letting all the little cousins name these guys!)
3 Eggers
3 Rustic Rambler (some kind of new hybrid, mixed with Marans, so dark chocolate eggs)
3 ISA browns
Here they are at 1 week! Their faces do not look that different to me...some beaks are longer...but they have color in their wings and a few have tail feathers! I’ll post their pics in groups. First are the Black Australorp. Left is day 1, right is 1 week.
Well poor little Basil had a horrible case of pasty butt today, but after about 15 minutes of working on her, she is clear and dry! About an hour later, Bernadette had a second bout of pasty butt which I think was my fault..I don’t think I cleared her the first time. The cleaning gets easier...
Will post a 1 week photo shoot of the babies tomorrow! They grow so fast! Some have coloring on their wings & baby tail feathers! Soooo precious! They are taking an afternoon nap! A few under the plate, but these guys in the corner together & two are ROOSTING! ❤️
A few candid shots:

In pic 3 a bunch of them were fascinated and busy pecking a spot on the cardboard.
In the second to...
Here is a picture of their first field trip outside! By the end of 20 minutes, a few dust bathed a spot and started dozing off, so we took them back in to rest!
Anyone know when it’s ok to bring them outside for 15-20 minutes per day? They seem very content and only occasionally go under the heat lamp when the temp drops after dinner.
Some new pics! Will get 15 individual once my son gets up and helps me change out the pads & paper towels. I couldn’t get them all, and had one escape artist! 😂
Ok so I lied. I laid on the floor just watching them sleep & a bunch started peeping and cane out to say hi! They must be toasty warm if they aren’t huddled in the middle!
Thank you! I’ll leave them be (although I’ll prob check them every hour is so until I go to bed. I can’t wait til the sun comes up & I can see them in the light again! When we put them in the brooder, they all immediately chowed down, drank some water, and found the heat lamp. Piled up and dream...
