    Sorry to hear that. Pain is not fun. Neither is finding a rock in the food or a pearl. The pearl was a seed pearl but still a rock. Put me off dinner. Was exciting at the time, I'd never found a pearl in my food before. Almost as much fun as finding bird shot.

    Cooking is chemistry. If the rice is mushy, you are using too much water. For firmer rice, use less water. It also depends on the type of rice you are using.
