Did your chicks actually eat the food? I use Purina all flock crumbles for my chicks. There are occasionally larger pieces in the food and the chicks simply don't eat those larger pieces. If they ate the food, it wasn't too large to digest. If it was the feed, I suspect it is very old and/or...
