Videos**Then and Now: Duckling almost two weeks into niacin deficiency treatment. Any changes?

Ugh I can't get it on right. Her foot won't sit flat so I am unsure how to do it and when I bend it enough to even barely sit in the splint it seems like she's in pain. No idea what to do... Thanks again for checking :)

So spoiled! Mine too haha it drives my husband a bit crazy. Yes, power came back on about 3 hours after buying a brand new generator that didn’t work ugh. It was a rough couple of days. Quick question, splints came in today. Do I wrap the vet wrap all the way up the leg so the hock is...

Hahah that’s hilarious and a lot like how it is with my chickens. I can pick up my EE and sometimes my Buff Orpingtons, but normally they all follow me around hoping for food, but if I try to give them any love, they run haha.

Hahaha! So true, but my other ducks weren’t a huge fan of me either. Enid still isn’t though she doesn’t run so much to get away, she eventually gives up and let’s me love on her though she despises every second of it. I don’t want to stop trying though! I always wondered, have I held them too...

We don’t get too many tornados either, just a lot of snow, which I typically love. Yep, doing my best! Just don’t want them to be any more stressed. I swear they hate me from all the handling trying to just take care of them.

I know. I’m worried about them as they seem extra lethargic :( We had high winds up to 60 mph gust and we live in the middle of the woods so power lines down all over the place. You’re really very sweet to check in on us :) My husband is going to run into town and get more hand/feet warmers to...

Thanks for checking in! Tough yesterday, last night and today so far. We have been without power and water here and may not get it back until Saturday ugh. I’m currently snuggling the ducks in towels to help keep them warm.

The bigger one can walk, but seems to prefer to just scoot on her belly. When she gets up, it’s almost like she’s trying to move too fast she falls anyway, if that makes sense. I watched them on the camera today and they haven’t moved much. They both get the b complex. Today is only the 2nd day...

Videos**Then and Now: Duckling almost two weeks into niacin deficiency treatment. Any changes?

I was thinking eventually the tub will have to be filled for them. I just hate the idea of bathing in a tub ducks pooped in, even though I Clorox the heck out of it. I mean, I still have to dump out and drain the poop water anyway haha. Mentally having a hard time getting passed that. Wish we...

They go for quite a while and I pull them out once they seem to be breathing heavily or the water cools down too much. Thanks for the great idea! My sweet girls exercising.

Miss Lydia mentioned Etsy duck splints. I will get on there. I am just concerned about getting the right size. Maybe I need to get a few, especially as they grow so fast.

I am giving it to both of them via syringe. I also have poultry cell in their big water (not the little one to dip their beaks fully in) and brewers yeast in their food.

Okay, that's good to know. I will have to figure out how to introduce them slowly during the winter. I am in northern Michigan so super cold and snowy for many more months. I wondered that too, an injury from the shipping. She was always the smallest too. I did try wrapping and either I did it...

This is great! I am going to get one. I imagine the smallest is the best size? Or do you think juvenile? She's 3.5 weeks old. Also, I added a pic of their new setup to get them through the winter and hopefully encourage walking. Do you think putting the food, water, etc. away so they have to...

I don't notice a huge difference between the two in terms of being swollen. I suppose that's a good thing? The initial bruising makes me a little nervous though, in terms of potential slipped tendon. I did feel at that time and didn't notice anything. I have her leg wrapped and will keep an eye...

@Miss Lydia did you think the hock of the hurt leg looked swollen?

Videos**Then and Now: Duckling almost two weeks into niacin deficiency treatment. Any changes?

Interesting. I’ll have to see what I can figure out. They are currently in their first bath of the day after their b complex meds (they both HATE it and me at this point). Do you think if I gently stretched it out and wrapped it with vet wrap still while allowing a bit of a bend would work in...

Videos**Then and Now: Duckling almost two weeks into niacin deficiency treatment. Any changes?

Just checked, and no, I don't notice any difference when I run my fingers down the back of both legs, besides the leg she won't put weight on is smoother as she's wearing down the skin. I also forgot to mention, when I first noticed her not bearing weight on the leg, her webbed foot was...
