I'm trying something new with my quail's feed. I'm mixing the crumble with my other birds' seed, hoping it will help control whatever is ailing my girls :( If their eggs become problematic, I have some calcium supplement. I seriously think it's a nutritional problem making my poor girls sick...

Yeah :( It's really frustrating. I might have to change their food as the symptoms seem to be related to a nutrient problem.

WELL, the second batch of quail eggs are a bust as no eggs hatched on my second attempt. I'll likely keep the incubator and use it as a brooder and save up for another incubator. Anyone have luck with another brand of small incubator? I don't want to do more than 12 eggs at a time. I've heard...

When it rains it pours. Now one of my quail hens is looking off. She just sits there with her head between her feet. I wonder what's up? Sighs. Did manage to work on the eagle head painting yesterday eve. Still have to tackle the beak and eye, but it's looking not too bad :) .

Well, my Pineapple green cheek conure hen, Tsunami, is sick. I dunno if it's stress from laying or what, but I can't get her to the vet until Friday and I fear she won't survive until then :( . I'm keeping an eye on her. I'll be surprised if she survives until this afternoon. No emergency vets...
