Do you mean muscovy? As pekins are mallard derived ducks. Muscovy are ducks just not from the mallard line. Musvovy are a type of wood duck. A lot of blogs spread misinformation. There are other species of ducks that do not come from mallard lineage.

Go on you tube to see and hear muscovies. The females trill and peep. The males have a whisper like quack. I've not let my girls sit on more than 5 eggs, but I've seen some large muscovy nests.
