Yeah, they can be. I use Daily Harvest, and it's a minimum of 9 items per box, though thankfully I can decide how often I want to get it. Most (filling) things range from 7-9 dollars each. They're getting rid of the ice cream though, which I'm really bummed about. It was kind of expensive, but...

I feed them raw back to the birds. I won't eat them most times and these darn guys lay too many sometimes

That's where I would draw the line personally. I myself joke along like that because it's true occasionally, but I can honestly say that my other friend would absolutely not find it funny
