    Probably too much work, but... you could dig it out, if you really want that location. Doesn't have to be completely gravel free, just want most of it gone, and then replace it with a good amount of litter of your choice.

    x2 on adding ventilation up high, the coop at least has good air volume due to height so that'll help, but you still need a way for moisture and ammonia to flow out. Carport makes a great run, I'm very tempted to do that if I ever need to set up a chicken area again. x2 everything else...

    If the brooding area is getting down to the 30s, I'd probably continue to provide some heat for another week or so, unless the chicks proved to me that they were done with it, don't want it. But sounds like the chicks are indoors (in the house?) so at 4 weeks they wouldn't need it at any...
