    I have covered my runs and wrapped all sides with wire that has openings small enough to keep birds out. I have convinced my wife to move all her bird feeders to the front yard and the side near the garden area. The chickens have access to the surrounding acreage but not these two smaller areas...

    I did stumble on to some clear corrugated roofing; enough to cover both my runs. Luckiest little accident my flock ever had. Keeps out rain, hawks, and birds without blocking the sun in winter.

    Most of that list i was doing before i ever knew about bird flu. The only change is everyday i pray God's hand of protection over my little plot of ground and everything on it.
