Hahahahaha oh man! I thought that "Lavender Hyacinth" was a breed of chicken :lau

What is wrong with these feathers?

My breeder crosses to black as well, to control for this. Actually she warned me that some of the eggs I got were from a lav x split pairing, so I might get some blacks as well. I guess we'll see what the remaining chick grows up to look like...

What is wrong with these feathers?

Now I have to know what that is! Is it a breed? All I can find in google is the flower  I already feed 20% protein (Purina Flock Raiser) as a baseline, switching to starter won't change anything because that's 20% as well. Should I go higher? I worry that anything higher would be too...

It will be more than a year before they have a good molt - they are only 2 months old, and their adult feathers are still...

What is wrong with these feathers?

Nope, this breeder is very serious about her birds and only breeds English Orpingtons. She would not mess up her lines with frizzles!

What is wrong with these feathers?

I hatched some Lavender Orpingtons for the first time this year (English). I know their reputation... but color availability was limited at the time and they only had lavenders, so I thought I'd give them a chance. They came from a good local breeder. 6 hatched and are 9 weeks old now. Looking...
