Got my first Olive Egg! It was 52g, pretty decent size for a first!

Does anyone’s Ideal Olive Egger look like a Welsummer? Mine is spitting image of my Welsummer, but had a modified pea comb instead of a ginormous straight comb. No beard. That’s the only thing giving me hope that she will lay green & not brown.

We are able to keep a couple cockerels. I just wish we had got 1 pullet!

I hatched 3 Olive Eggers from Meyers this year. I was so excited! Then they grew up & all 3 were cockerels. 🙄 lol

Here is my OE from Ideal. She is 23 weeks old. I think she looks identical to my Welsummer except her legs are orange, and she has a modified pea comb. No muffs or beard. Hoping she lays before spring! Our Welsummer just started laying. If my OE doesn’t lay green, I’ll order another next year...

I know this is about Ideal, but at the family farm we have 2 whiting true green pullets from McM, I can share their eggs also once they start laying if anyone wants to see the color! The Olive Egger is in my own flock 😊.

Me too! Lucky you! I bought mine from Ideal specifically because it said they were breeding with Barnevelders and I have never owned one, but I don’t mind, just hoping I get a green egg!

Here is my OE from Ideal. She looks almost identical to my Welsummer., except her orange coloring is more yellowish around the neck. No beard or muffs, modified pea comb. I am praying she lays Olive…she’s about 14 weeks now.
