My current choice for decaf is Fidalgo Coffee Roasters Organic Decaf. For regular, it's Caffe Vita's Theo Blend. I don't like my coffee too dark or strong or tannic, but it still needs to taste like coffee.
Caffeine has almost no effect on me. I can drink 3 cups of coffee and take a nap an hour later. It does affect hubby quite a bit so I make decaf at home unless he's not having any. Took a lot of searching to find a decaf that didn't straight up taste like decaf.
Hubby wanted coffee while we were out, so talked him into going to a shop that has one of my favorites: a 16 oz Attitude Adjustment - hemp milk, cinnamon, vanilla, hazelnut and honey with a sprinkle of raw sugar. I rarely get it, should try making it at home.
I seriously have never had office coffee that didn't put me in the bathroom within half an hour... 😅
Actually, no, one time a conference room 1 floor below had brought in Starbucks in giant dispensers, and the entire building pretty much flocked down there and emptied it out. Starbucks might...
For me cost is the biggest part of it, especially as I drink coffee almost daily. $14 buys 1 lb of organic beans of my choice, vs 2 specialty drinks in a shop. Plus being able to control the outcome of what I make is appealing, as I feel my homemade coffee is better (and more convenient) than...
Yeah I'm not buying all that equipment to make coffee. I'd rather pay someone the $7. ;D
Also I'm mostly lactose intolerant, so that's just another inconvenience to deal with (and coffee shops charge around an extra 75 cents to profit off people like me). I've tried my way through most milk...
It's definitely the easiest (and cheapest to boot - my grinder is $10 and French press was $16). No messing with filters, I can just rinse and go for the most part.
I don't like my coffee too dark but I find I can moderate how "heavy" it tastes by changing water temperature and steep time...
Actually I've never had Dunkin so there goes my point of comparison. :p
I guess baseline for me is Starbucks. On one hand, it's consistent. On the other hand, it tastes like burned cardboard. We go there if I'm wanting a specific drink, or... when I can't find any other place nearby or open...
I keep meaning to try Timmies, just because they advertise it endlessly during hockey games. But I keep reminding myself it's like a Canadian Dunkin, so why would I do that to myself. :D
I don't think of myself as a snob but I guess the reality is... I probably am. I started drinking coffee at around 7 yrs old, once a week my dad would make me a cup with cream and sugar at the local bank (thanks dad!) as we weren't allowed soda and that was one of the "special" beverages I...
