I love the name!
If you think she's regained her strength, then try putting her with her flock at least part of the day to help re-integrate her. See that she's not getting beaten up or bullied, etc.
Hopefully things are going to continue to go well for her.
I agree, I'd make grit (crushed granite) available for her.
Sounds like she's making some progress, I'd keep up with what you're doing for a few days and see how it goes.
I agree, make the food and water available and see if she will eat/drink on her own.
Watch slick floors, she may have difficulty standing and walking on them. A rubber mat for her to stand on may be helpful.
Right, but is it emptying over night?
Feel of her crop first thing in the morning before you give her food and water and she's slept all night long without eating or drinking. What does the crop feel like then?
Do her eyes constrict and dilate? Or are they staying dilated all the time?
If she's not eating her food or drinking on her own, then you may need to tube the food as well (for a couple of days).
Her crop is definitely emptying overnight right?
Poor girl, she's not doing too well is she:(
I'd work on getting fluids into her. That green poop is concerning. It may be due to her not eating much, but it could also indicate infection or just a general decline.
See if you can entice her with a little wet feed or scrambled egg after you...
O.K.
So at 4.8 lbs at a max dose of 50mg/kg her dose would be around 110mg give 4 times a day.
So. If you give 1/2 a tablet (125mg) at least twice a day, you would probably be o.k. but ideally you want to get more than 2 doses into her - aim for 3 times a day.
Can you weigh her?
50mg/kg given 4 times a day is as high as I would go for the Cephalexin.
You report she's 6 pounds? If that's the case, then that would be (max) 136mg given 4 times a day. So give her 1/2 tablet (125mg) for each dose - I'd aim for at least twice daily if you can't get 4...
I would go with Baytril, it's a strong broad spectrum antibiotic. If it doesn't help with infection, very likely nothing will.
I would not soak her if she's weak. Soaking a sick, weak or lethargic bird can push them over the edge.
If she's got poop stuck to her feathers, then clean her with...
Were you able to get any calcium?
I'd work on hydration and getting her to eat her normal feed (wet or dry). Bits of scrambled egg may be enticing to her.
I agree, she may have infection from the albumen that was leaking from her vent. You can try an antibiotic like Amoxicillin to see if...
Her crop is mostly emptied?
Re-check first thing in the morning before she's had anything to eat/drink.
When she goes to roost tonight at dusk, make sure she doesn't eat/drink after that until you check her crop when she wakes up in the morning.
If the crop is empty/flat, then it won't be...
