    You are much better off if you don't brood them with chicks. The imprinting that happens can be harmful to your chickens once the turkeys are grown up. Turkeys not being able to understand that chickens are not turkeys and treating the chickens like they treat each other can end up very badly...

    You need a bigger brooder. They need room to come and go from the heated and non heated areas. They do not need the heated area to be 95°F. I start mine at 90°F measured at the bedding level. I recommend using a thermometer that has a wired probe. It will not be as attractive to them to...

    If the poults are laying on the sensor, it will give their body temperature reading rather than the actual temperature of the brooder..
