Yeah I have this partridge rock chick that she/he will sit directly under the lamp and peck at things around her lazily 😂😂 she’s LAZY and prefers the heat . While one of my grey marans prefers to hang out in the shadow casted by the waterer . At which age can I start cutting off the lamp at...
I think it was a mixture of everything lol but I still think the general weakness combined with the crowding and heat was what did them in . I have noticed that some of the chicks prefer to lounge right under the lamp while others prefer to keep a little distance . I guess every chick is...
Crossing my fingers for this !! But if one of my chicks is a true midnight majesty Maran then it’s probably a boy due to the white spots of white barring coming in on the top of its wings. It didn’t have a white spot on its head so maybe it’s a mutt or something but I have my eye on it. But...
Everyone is alive and well since the incident with those two chicks . The one who got half drowned was brought back to life via nutridrench and heat and is now just as active as the others. I will say I have some suspected cockrels tho 😳😭😂
Sorry the picture wasn’t the updated product I couldn’t wait to share it haha . We did end up putting boards under the water and feed stations
Yeah the “accident” was terrible . While I was at an internship and my fiance was at work our brooder plate *^cut off in the LITTLES brooder . I walked...
@Kung_pao we had an accident that whipped us into gear today about getting the brooder done now instead of this weekend . My fiance left work! But I’m glad we got it done
I had actually changed the feed when I started dosing them corid . I was using country road which on the bad said (should be only source of Amprolium ) and was thinking about switching to un-medicated with corid but read that people didn’t have trouble dosing with corid and using purina...
And I also have to add that even though this is the first time I’ve had chicks at my house- I’ve raised up dozens for my mom growing up and havent seen this - only thing that it reminds me of is when her chicks got Coccidia once .
We are Definetly done getting chicks this year . I decided to contact corporate rural king. And they’ve also been on filtered water for the past week ^ water out of bottles and jugs . We haven’t been using well-water and still get issues. Food has been purina medicated start - grow . Ive never...
This has been a rollercoaster ride! Yeah, I don't know what I've been dealing with. My fiancé and I have had stomach issues the past few days. Don't know if we're worn out by these chicks or what?! Right now, we are at a standstill. Peanut passed away this morning after a long fight. We have one...
Sick Chicks update:
It seems to me that the two chicks who were the weakest have gotten even weaker. Nothing seems to be helping. This includes Peanut..who has outlived all the other sick chicks even though it was the second one to get sick. She's two times smaller than the other chicks her...
Update: we adjusted the brooder a bit . We took my finances taxidermy stand and attatched the light to that so it’s higher . This is their third day off well-water . Chicks who have been doing fine continue to do so if not better . Two of the chicks stand out as not doing as well but will...
peanut is a little more lively she will literally peck attack the syringe so I have no problems with her . For the others I drip a little drop on the side of their beaks and they naturally take it into their mouth on their own . All but two of them ^
Yeah my chicks aren’t panting / and aren’t quiet at all , but it would be hard to follow given that the only ones who cheep the loudest have so far been the ones who end up dying. But the wing droopy thing is what’s ringing a bell with my sicklier ones.
The other chicks just make normal chick...
