Wow! You are a bird lover ! Good choices ; I have 1 Calif. Wht. pullet she's a brave girl. Had to get 4 chicks to get her, so I have 3 leghorns too. 4 EE chicks ( one looks roosterish!) And a RIR, 2 production reds,and 1 black Australorp, and 3 smokey pearls pullets ( got at TSC this spring)...

I ordered my girls from Murray Mcmurray but did see some at the local farm store ( Orshelns ) today. You just have a better chance of healthy (vaccinated) chicks to start your flock.

Ok you're going to love this idea. My kids think I should sell my small eggs as"LITE" eggs for 7.50 a dozen! We had a good laugh . Market them as lite or reduced cholesterol, less calorie eggs! Ha ha . Just kidding I live in a rural area ( as you know) and it would never fly

What college you at for now. I would have loved to be a vet tech. But I'm not sure it was a thing back in the 70s . I became an X-Ray tech. and ended up being a medical assistant at the end. I loved it, helping people was so much better than diagnostics. But I do love science.

Well my roost is full at night so that has kept the chicken math at bay so far! What are you studying at school? Major yet? ( since you got a chicken degree! Lol)

Oh it's a small one, just 5 hens in backyard coop. But I love them I have 2 ISA Browns 1 RIR,1Speck. Sussex, and a black austrolope.
