    Those definitely do not look like the legs of meat chickens...way too skinny. Unless they get some random specks of black, brown or tan in their feathers, they are most likely Leghorns.

    That is a hard view to judge by...I would definitely have to see better pics from the side and front and some of the others, before thinking they were meaties. Aren't meat birds ready to butcher by 6-8 weeks? The pic looks nothing close to eating size if they are 5 weeks. Maybe its just wishful...

    I thought meaties were slow to feather in and their feathers didn't look very full? That pic looks like s/he is fully feathered and fluffy and not overly fat for being so feathered. I have never had meat chickens though, so I could be wrong.

    I got White Leghorns and Amberlinks at TSC, both are feathering in all white. I don't think ours even got any meat chicks. Mine aren't quite that old, but I would bet he got pullets and they are one of those two breeds. Hope your hubby can stay happy with his chickies and they aren't meaties!
