Mine have access to "free range" (1000+ sq feet surrounded by a foot-high chicken wire fence) as well as their enclosed run & coop. They're in & out all day long. In to the coop to lay or dust bathe (deep litter method). Out to graze. Into the run to dig holes in the dirt. In to the coop to nap...- pinguin
