    Sorry bout your dad. I read about the Turkens on Sustainable Meat / Standard Bred Dual Purpose Bird Thread posts of Desertchick where she shows this amazing birds and their weights...no crosses just plain Turkens. I was hooked with the NN. Bought 35 at Tractor supply and ordered 15 more.

    This are my crosses of my Dark Cornish Male with RIR's, White Plymouth Rocks and Madisons. RIRX I have two males and two females of 8 wks old except for one of the males is 4 wks old. The WPRX and MadisonsX are 3 weeks old. Dark colored are WPR and Light Colored are Madisons X. Don't know weight...

    Wow....they looked delicious. What 's hen you were using? Slow growth Cx or Jumbo Cx? I'm using Madisons DP hen and white Plymouth rock. Used RIR also but Madisons and WPR offspring look bigger. How old were your birds when those pics were taken?

    Here are pics of my last 3 hatches two weeks old, one week old, and newborns from yesterday all together in my brooder/coop. Dark color are Dark Cornish/White Plymouth Rocks and light colors are Buff Orphimgton/Madisons.

    Today's Hatch Total: Out of 71 eggs on lockdown 66 hatched, 3 still peeping and popping the remaining 2 one appears dead and the last one still alive but hasn't pipped. Hopefully they hatch by tomorrow. Still got another 70 eggs incubating, half due on the 24th and the other half on the 31st...

    Lockdown tomorrow noon!!!!! Out of the 90 eggs set 72 appear going to lockdown, we'll find out tomorrow on last candling. Eggs of my Dark Cornish Males with my White/Barred Plymouth Rocks and my Buff Orphington Male with my Madisons.

    Candled the 78 eggs last night on day 14th and 72 remained 2 blood rings and 4 stopped developing. Due on the 17th. 1st candle of 39 eggs set last Saturday (7th day) and 35 remained. 1 bloodring and 3 unfertiled. Due on the 24th. Set another 41 eggs last night to be due on the 31st.
