Yep, the ability to be able to burn wood to stay warm and cut heating costs is a no brainer for country folks willing to work and stay toasty warm. We keep the thermostat set at 75 degrees and the fire is just at a nice burn....the chimney stays nice and clean, because the fire isn't dampered...

Yep, we burn around 20 face cords every year. We have a wood fired boiler in the basement, and a fireplace in the living room where the computer is. During the not so terrible cold we burn the fireplace otherwise we use the boiler. Gotta love that wood heat....nothing compares. bigzio
