Guess it depends on how many genes etc but I have a blue barred cochin roo and I have two pullets from him over BO hens and they are both not barred! Both have lighter heads, the one is more gold...

    In my experience, buffs when crossed with blacks (or black based colours) often seem to have chicks which have a lot of colour coming through on the chest & front of the bird with a lot of the black being pushed towards the back of the bird.
