Who needs a lawnmower when you have 18 ducks and 3 geese! =)

Pickled eggs give me the willies. Anything pickled but cucumbers does lol. Growing up we had a huge jar that permanently lived in our fridge where my mom pickled anything: peppers, cauliflower, carrots, peaches, watermelon rind, etc. We do use the eggs for snacks because they are bite sized.

lol yeah that's what I meant. I shouldn't type when trying to listen to someone on the phone LOL It's funny about bantam eggs, I got rid of 4 bantam cochins and all I had left for bantams were 5 silkies, an OEG and a millie fleur pair. We didn't really pay attention to anything when we...

I guess I shouldn't have phrased it that way. I didn't mean eggs were a dairy product. The majority of people with egg allergies have it classified by allergists as a dairy allergy. The reason those people can eat duck eggs is because the proteins in duck and chicken eggs are different. Duck egg...

Duck eggs are richer. Some of my customers say they are a little thicker/rubberier for scrambled or fried eggs but I don't notice it. BF uses them to make bread because it makes them fluffier and tastier. Most of my duck egg customers buy them because someone in their family has dairy...

We got turkeys for the first time this year and that was Aric's insistence, DON'T name any of them. I was allowed to name 3 BR because I was keeping them. Sadly one of them was culled last week and it's still bothering me because she was so very sweet. The rest just go by "get out of my way"...

Like Opa said, you can't be too picky. Almost no one wants roos and I end up giving all of mine away unless they're a specialty bantam or something. Although now I have a neighbor down the road that will take any roos I have because he butchers them himself for his large family. Good enough for...

There's nothing like scrubbed down duck pools! My BF deserves a huge award for spending so much time and energy doing it for me!! After working so hard to getting those pools to look brand new, he came in and told me he was tired of looking at the coop we've been trying to sell. He's decided...

We have 5 BO's and 6 Light Brahama's and they're both pretty even in temperaments. They are extremely sweet and hardly make any noise at all!

Yes from Townline this year and Meyer 2 years ago. I will never order from them again. Townline refused to give a refund of any kind and were really terrible to me. I ordered BO and most were BO with some black colors in them. They're pretty but not what I ordered. Meyer sent me more chicks. Not...

I have a totally silly question. How long are roos fertile for? Is there a particular age? Here's my issue. For 2 years I have incubated eggs with absolutely no problem, hatching out dozens of chicks each year. This year I've had 2 chicks and 1 duckling. I thought it was the fact that it was...
