They are red, whereas a buff bird is almost yellow. Orpingtons don't have yellow legs, they are the biggest giveaway. Unfortunately feedstores are frequently wrong when it comes to breeds, not sure whether the employees just don't know, mix them up, or are expecting something else from the...- Cara
