    Have you ever used duck house bedding? I have a pile of that too and boy is it "wetter" than the chicken bedding!

    I find that as long as I spread it fairly thin and not too close to the plants that it doesn't effect anything but the weeds! Now if I let it sit in a pile the dogs think it's a playground and go for a roll in it!

    I also use the bedding from the coops in my garden. I pile it up through the winter then spread it over the garden and til it into the soil. During the summer I spread the bedding between the rows which does help to choke out weeds. I find I don't barefoot garden like I used to but I get...

    Thanks Sally! Based on all the threads, Barebacked chickens seems to be a fairly common occurence...I will post some pictures and we'll see what people have to say.
