I had a lavender cuckoo English Orpington who was gorgeous and friendly . I ended up going to the Kennett Square Farmers Market and asking all sellers of local eggs if they needed a roo. I found a lovely family farm with a huge flock of production reds who had an elderly roo. They used a mobile...

I had 4 beautiful English orps I bought on the internet—they came with 11 others that arrived dead/dying. Does Martha still have English Orps?

Happily, my 3 Dennisian Amerucaunas are well and very happy. They were defining broody and (irresponsibly and spontaneously)I came home with a TSC chick right before I visited Dennis for Welbars. This (now 2 week old) baby has two doting mommies!

Thank you Victoria. I ended up buying some and then three days later she died. I still don't know what was going on. Not anemic, not worms or lice, just not eating much at all and loosing weight with diarrhea.

Does anyone know a source for cheap small quantities of Corid? I would buy a regular bottle, but know of no surer way to have my hen die before it even arrives.

Thank you Tilly. Dennis rarely has Amerucauna hens that for some reason didn't make the cut for his breeding program. I got three last year and they are gorgeous and lay blue eggs like CRAZY. It might be worth asking.

Happy July 4th everyone! I have been missing in action since my house fire. You think it won't happen to you? I NEVER thought it would happen to me. I had the best brooder set up ever--in my second bedroom --a rabbit cage on top of a dog crate with the heat lamp on top. The room was locked. I...

Looks pinker in the sunlight, but if I handed it to you — you would call it a brown egg.

My Orpington eggs look tan, until I hold them next to one of my Plymouth Rock eggs and then they look pinkish. I will have to get a picture. Wishing now I had gotten an olive egged and an opal legbar as long as we made the drive!

Hello everyone! I have been absent a bit, trying to rearrange my life since my mom passed away. I got a new dog and am showing her, which fills some of the hole in my heart. I found a nice local FB chicken group--someone there needs a trapper for their fox problem--Blarney, didn't you have...

Congratulations! I haven't gotten an egg in at least a week and before that, it was one egg a day for at least two weeks! Everyone is now molting, too.
